Tales From The Cycle Trails - Our First Wedding!

It’s been a year… since our first Wheel2Wheel Holidays engagement!

Hannah wedding

So here’s an update…

Hannah and Asher experienced a cycling trip for the first time back in 2015. They explored the beautiful Loire Valley and cycled their way to the Atlantic coast of France.

Whilst visiting picturesque towns and discovering the former harbour city of Nantes – Asher popped the question and a year on are now happily married and looking forward to their next cycling adventure! We caught up with Hannah and asked about her experience of a cycling holiday.

Why did you choose a cycling holiday in the first instance?

‘’I have always loved cycling and would cycle whenever I went to places where there is lots of room such as Berlin, the Lake District or Tyrolean countryside.

However, there were odd days that I wanted to experience a longer trip, ideally combining great food, wine and scenery – so the Loire Valley trip very much fitted the brief for us!’’

Have you cycled much since the holiday? Did the trip want to make you cycle more?

‘’After getting back from France last September I pretty much got straight into wedding planning. This meant all trips were on hold for a year apart from our stag and hen weekends; otherwise we would have definitely planned another cycling holiday.

However, I did adopt an abandoned 1980s “shopper” style bicycle for short trips in the neighbourhood. It’s an amazing sea green colour with white saddle and people always ask me where I got it. I had been too scared to cycle locally until last summer’s confidence boost.’’

Where are you planning on taking your next cycling holiday?

‘’Asher and I hope to do another cycling trip on the Continent in spring / summer 2017, perhaps somewhere like Burgundy or possibly Germany. It will give us something to look forward to as we hurtle towards house hunting and the cold wintry months ahead! ‘’
